Project Gomidas

Project Gomidas is the project to digitize Gomidas’s Divine Liturgy notes in the most rigorous way, in accordance with the Vartan Sarkisyan’s edition published in 1945, Istanbul.

Gomidas Divine Liutrgy is one of the mostly performed mass in the Armenian Apostolic Church. The aim of the project is to introduce it for those who are not familiar with the notes and want to learn it and improve themselves without a professional help.

The reason I used the application ‘musescore’ within the scope of this project is that it offers listeners both online and offline free acess listening.The listeners will be able to listen to their own partitions or even to highlight what they want to hear among the partitions.

As a musician who loves Gomidas and feels very indebted to him, it is very honoring to transfer his music to today’s digital world and make it more accessible with this project.

This page is dedicated to Harutyun Şanlı who was always in search of the best for the Armenian community in İstanbul.
